Technology Foundations - Clarksville and Dickson

Technology Foundations helps in achieving an acceptable level of proficiency in the basic skills necessary for success in the student's chosen occupational area.

Full-time students enrolled at the Technology Center will complete the Technology Foundations assessment tests and will attend the Center’s Technology Foundations Lab until any deficiencies are corrected (except health related students who complete another test). Students attend Technology Foundations in conjunction with their regular programs.

Technology Foundations provides program related instruction in Reading for Information, Locating Information, Applied Math, Writing, Listening, and Teamwork.  A qualified faculty member is available to assist students in obtaining the necessary educational skills to excel in the program of their choice.

Technology Foundations has three functions.  They are:  (1) to serve students who need Technology Foundations in combination with their vocational training; (2) to serve persons who wish to improve their basic skills of reading, math, and/or language skills; (3) to provide special industry training within the parameters of the Technology Foundations program.

Once the TTC Technology Foundations curriculum is completed, students will take the WorkKeys Assessment for the Career Readiness Certification.
