Solar Photovoltaic - Dickson

Picture of Solar Photovoltaic - Dickson

Study and practice within the Solar Photovolaic program will focus on the two main parts of the job: the mechanical installation of solar modules on roofs and other racking systems, and the electrical installation of the balance-of-system components, such as inverters, disconnects, conduit and wiring. Students will also learn how to assess the solar power potential of a given site and then design a system based on the site assessment, customer needs, equipment parameters and the National Electrical Code. The goal of the course is to prepare students for a job installing solar PV systems. Three separate arrays at the Green Campus will allow students to see a variety of PV systems in operation. Specialized training equipment will be employed to teach the basics of electricity and the installation and operation of solar PV systems.

The program is located in the Green Sustainable Energy Campus located at 248 Beasley Drive, Dickson, TN  37055 (615.446.5420). For directions, click on the Directions main menu option at the top of this web page.
